About the Author

Chris Plekenpol graduated from West Point in 1999. As company commander, Chris led over one hundred men in Korea, Iraq, and Colorado. These men played a key role in assisting the 1st Marine Division in taking Fallujah in November 2004, played a large part in the first free elections in Iraq in January of 2005, and had the responsibility of securing and capturing terrorists along the highway that connected Fallujah and Ramadi. While in Iraq, Plekenpol wrote Faith in the Fog of War Vol. I & II. These books offer readers a firsthand account of the Iraqi war and the unshakable faith that saw Plekenpol through the battles raging both on the ground and in his heart. Plekenpol resigned from the Army in August 06, and graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary in May of 2010 with a ThM. Chris's third book, Stumbling Souls, tells the true story of what happens when he puts God's agenda ahead of his own when he takes in a homeless, hurricane Katrina victim off the streets and into his home. Plekenpol is a leader of the movement, I am Second. A dynamic speaker, he and his gorgeous wife, Adrienne, speak to audiences all over the country and around the world. He has spoken on college campuses, churches, prisons, men's conferences and youth camps. His book Is Love Wrong? is a daring move for Plekenpol as he challenges the church to reach those formerly rejected as untouchable. An Orthodox believer, Plekenpol seeks to take orthodoxy and translate it into orthpraxy as he befriends a Gay Activist and watches the Spirit of God not only affect one man's soul, but impact the Gay Community as well as the Evangelical Community of Dallas for the better. Chris is now the Lead Pastor of Wells Branch Community Church in Austin, TX.
