Oblong's Suzanna Hermans will talk with author Joseph Moldover about Oblong Books & Music and how we are supporting authors and publishers during this surreal time of lockdown, after which author Gail Godwin will speak and read from her new novel OLD LOVEGOOD GIRLS. It's not quite the same as hosting Gail in the store as we had planned to do but it's the next best way for us to gather together to celebrate and support the launch of her new book!

Luminous and masterfully crafted, OLD LOVEGOOD GIRLS is the story of a powerful friendship between talented writers, two college friends who have formed a bond that takes them through decades of a fast-changing world, finding and losing and finding again the one friendship that defines them.

Gail Godwin is a three-time National Book Award finalist and the bestselling author of more than a dozen critically acclaimed books, including the novels Grief Cottage, Flora, Father Melancholy's Daughter, and Evensong, and Publishing, a memoir. She has received a Guggenheim Fellowship, National Endowment for the Arts grants for both fiction and libretto writing, and the Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. She lives in Woodstock.

A Mighty Blaze was created by authors Jenna Blum (Those Who Save Us and The Lost Family) and Caroline Leavitt (Pictures of You, Cruel Beautiful World, and the upcoming With or Without You—8/8/20) as asocial media initiative for authors whose tours have been canceled by Covid-19 so they can still reach their readers—and so readers have a place to go every week to find and buy new books.

A bookplate signed by Gail Godwin will be included with your purchase of OLD LOVEGOOD GIRLS (while supplies last). We can ship to you or curbside pick-up is also available for those who live locally.
