Mending Matters Katrina Rodabaugh

Local author, Katrina Rodabaugh of Germantown, NY, will read a short excerpt from her new book, Mending Matters: Stitch, Patch, and Repair Your Favorite Denim & More from Abrams Books, before leading a panel discussion with local artists and book collaborators, Karen Pearson (photographer, Rhinebeck, NY) and Cal Patch (fashion designer, Accord, NY).

Rodabaugh is an artist, writer, and crafter working across disciplines to explore environmental and social issues through traditional craft techniques, and rethinking the relationship between fiber art, sustainability, and slow fashion. Since August 2013 she's been on a fashion fast, focussing on mending, plant dyes, and prioritizing handmade or secondhand garments instead of buying new clothing. She also grows, forages, and harvests dye plants near her farmhouse.

Rodabaugh will discuss her work with fashion, fiber arts, and sustainability, and will sign books after the discussion.
