Gwen Strauss's poems, short stories and essays have appeared in The New Republic, London Sunday Times, New England Review, Kenyon Review, and others and she is the author of the collection of poetry, Trail of Stones. Born in Haiti, Strauss now lives in Southern France, where she is the Director of the artist's residency program at the Dora Maar House.

Lauren Sandler is an award-winning journalist based in Brooklyn, and the author of This Is All I Got: A New Mother’s Search for Home, and the bestselling One and Only: The Freedom of Having an Only Child. Her essays and features have appeared in Time, The New York Times, Slate, The Atlantic, The Nation, The New Republic, The Guardian, New York Magazine, Elle, and more.  She has been on staff at Salon and at NPR, where she worked on All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Weekend Edition, and the Cultural Desk.
