Christine SneedGioia Diliberto

Christine Sneed is the author of the novels Paris, He Said and Little Known Facts, and the story collections Portraits of a Few of the People I've Made Cry and The Virginity of Famous Men. She is also the editor of the short fiction collection Love in the Time of Time's Up (10/4/22) and her work has appeared in The Best American Short Stories, O. Henry Prize Stories, the New York Times, O Magazine, New England Review, The Southern Review, Ploughshares, and many other periodicals. She has received the Grace Paley Prize in Short Fiction, the Society of Midland Authors Award, the Chicago Public Library’s 21st Century Award, among other honors. She teaches for the MFA programs at Northwestern University and Regis University. Please Be Advised is her bright, irreverent send-up of corporate America in the 21st century. Mixing cultural critique and formal inventiveness with wicked laughs and the sort of surrealistic mysteries only a novel about the corporate world could give us, the book tracks the decline, fall, and possible resurrection of Quest Industries, one of the world's foremost purveyors of collapsible, portable, and (occasionally) dangerous office machines. Featuring a rogue's gallery of corporate cogs from drunk, womanizing, and often-delusional CEO Bryan Stokerly, Esq. to his executive secretary, the brainy, libidinous Hannah Louise Schmidt.

Gioia Diliberto has written biographies of Jane Addams, Hadley Hemingway, Diane von Furstenberg, and Brenda Frazier, as well as the critically acclaimed novels I Am Madame X and The Collection. Her latest novel - Coco at the Ritz explores the motivations and actions of fashion icon Coco Chanel during World War II to determine if she truly was a Nazi collaborator as many people suspected. Gioia's journalism has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, Smithsonian, and Vanity Fair. She also teaches writing and has taught at Northwestern and DePaul Universities and the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Scott Spencer is the author of twelve novels, including An Ocean Without a Shore, Endless Love, Waking the Dead, A Ship Made of Paper, and Willing. He has taught at Columbia University, the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, Williams College, the University of Virginia, and at Eastern Correctional Facility as part of the Bard Prison Initiative.
