Laura Blackett & Eve Gleichman, Trust & Safety: A NovelEmma Copley Eisenberg, HOUSEMATES: A Novel

Laura Blackett & Eve Gleichman's new novel TRUST & SAFETY is a wry yet tenderhearted story about a couple who attempt to buy their way into a “wild and precious” existence in the Hudson Valley, where they quickly become entangled with a queer couple living the dream analog life. Whip-smart and wickedly funny, Trust and Safety examines questions of authenticity, betrayal, belonging, and entitlement, while poking fun at contemporary fear of the “gay agenda.”

In Emma Copley Eisenberg's new novel HOUSEMATES (A Most Anticipated Book of 2024: Lit Hub, Debutiful, LGBTQ Reads, The Rumpus, Lilith, Hey Alma, Them) two young housemates embark on a road trip to discover themselves  through love, friendship, and chosen family in a fractured America. Warm and insightful, Housemates is a story of youth and freedom—a glorious celebration of queer life, and how art and love might save us all.

Laura Blackett and Eve Gleichman's debut novel, The Very Nice Box, was a New York Times Editors' Choice and an Apple Book of the Month. Eve Gleichman has also published work in The Kenyon Review, Harvard Review, BOMB magazine, and elsewhere and is a graduate of Brooklyn College's MFA fiction program. Longtime Brooklyn neighbors and friends, Blackett and Gleichman write their novels together, swapping ideas via text message and building endless streams of comments on Google docs.

Emma Copley Eisenberg is a queer writer of fiction and nonfiction. Her first book, The Third Rainbow Girl: The Long Life of a Double Murder in Appalachia, was named a New York Times Notable Book and was nominated for an Edgar Award, a Lambda Literary Award, and an Anthony Award, among other honors. Her fiction has appeared in Granta, McSweeney’s, VQR, American Short Fiction, and other publications. Raised in New York City, she lives in Philadelphia, where she co-founded Blue Stoop, a community hub for the literary arts.
