Come and shop to show your support for the performing arts in our community!
Enjoy a panel presentation, discussion and short performance from the show
performed by Ashley France from 7-8pm.

Our panel includes Rhinebeck Theater Society President, and Director of FUN HOME - Dorothy Luongo; Ashley France - who will be playing the role of Alison Bechdel in the production; Julie Novak - founder of TMI Project and host of the show "No One Like You" on Radio Kingston 1490 AM WKNY and Melanie Klein, Associate Professor of English at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie. The panel will be moderated by Rhinebeck Theater Society's Kirstin Horn.

FUN HOME is a musical adapted by Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori from Alison Bechdel's 2006 graphic memoir of the same name. The story is about Bechdel's discovery of her own sexuality, her relationship with her gay father, and her attempts to unlock the mysteries surrounding his life. This event will also serve as a kick off for Pride month which begins on June 1st.

Dorothy Luongo is the president of Rhinebeck Theatre Society and teaches 5th grade at Poughkeepsie Day School. She has been directing theatre around the Hudson Valley since 2002, and is honored to be working on this production of Fun Home. She thanks Alison Bechdel for inspiring her big time at the 2015 National Council of Teachers of English Annual Convention.

Ashley France will be taking on the role of Alison Bechdel this June in Rhinebeck Theatre Society's regional premiere of Fun Home, the highlight of her ten year acting career. She has a Masters in Education, from the College of Saint Rose, and works at the Anderson Center for Autism. As an out lesbian, Ashley has worked hard on being an advocate for the LGBT+ community, as well as becoming more involved in local Pride events.

Co-founder of TMI Project, a non-profit organization offering transformative memoir workshops and performances where participants are encouraged to share the parts of their stories that they usually leave out, Julie is not shy about connecting with new acquaintances on a deeper level and strives for meaningful connections with people that inspire her. Trained with a background in comedy and improv, Julie has performed on stage all over the tri-state area, including touring her one-person show, "America's Next Top: One Top's Hysterical Take on Life, Love, Tools and Boxes" which had a successful run in the 2015 NYC Fringe Festival. Currently, she is the host of No One Like You, a radio show and podcast where she interviews local heroes who share uplifting stories about turning their kryptonite into their superpower.  Listen every Monday from 1-3PM on Radio Kingston 1490 AM WKNY or at
