Read Local Red Hook Literary Festival
Red Hook Community Arts Network (Red Hook CAN), in partnership with Oblong Books & Music, is hosting a Read Local Red Hook Literary Festival on Saturday April 14, 2012 from 10am-5pm at the Village Building, 7467 South Broadway, Red Hook. This event is free and open to the public.

The festival is a full day of free events celebrating local authors. With Picture Book Story Time, Young Adult and Adult fiction readings, panel discussions, book sales and signings, the programs will appeal to readers all ages.
Keynote speaker, the award-winning author and filmmaker John Sayles, will close out the day with a reading, discussion and signing of his book, A Moment in the Sun.
10:00 - Story Time
Children of all ages will enjoy hearing husband and wife team David Soman and Jacky Davis (Ladybug Girl) and author-illustrator Peter McCarty (The Monster Returns) read from their work.
12:00 - Middle Grade / Young Adult Authors
Nancy Castaldo (Leap into Space) hosts fellow authors Jennifer Castle (The Beginning After), Michael Northrop (Plunked), and Robin Palmer (Lucy B. Parker) in a reading and panel discussion.
2:00 - Adult Authors
Author and Chronogram’s Book Editor, Nina Shengold (Clearcut), talks with local authors Thelma Adams (Playdate), Mary-Beth Hughes (Double Happiness: Stories) and Edie Meidav (Lola, California).
4:00 - Keynote Speaker: John Sayles
Award-winning author and filmmaker John Sayles will read from and discuss his book, A Moment in the Sun.
